All electronic midi drums played on the albums ‘Of Ash and Ember’ and ‘In Reverence To The Wolf’ were manually played and recorded after all of the guitars were recorded first. This is the opposite for what is usually done, and a very challenging method of working for most one man musical projects. Many within the dungeon synth or black metal genres as examples, tend to sequence all of the drums beforehand. This very often makes the music sound rigid and robotic, lacking emotional depth.
